About Nook

nook has been on quite a journey since it’s beginning in 1915 as Enoggera Presbyterian Church. Today it has been restored into our boutique Early Childhood  Centre while maintaining all the warmth and charm with beautiful stained glass windows, natural timber, large arches and gorgeous high ceilings.

Nook isn’t your standard child care centre. It’s an education facility focused on emotional, social, academic and physical development of your child.
At Nook we understand that a child’s first five years of life are fundamentally important.  They are the foundation that shapes childrens’ future health, happiness, growth and development.

Come & explore our learning environments.

Our qualified educators use diverse practices in their daily routines. Our programming incorporates the principals of the Early Years Learning Framework (EYLF), ‘Being, Belonging, Becoming’.

The EYLF has been designed so that early childhood services will be able to develop their own strategies to implement its objectives, thus enhancing children’s learning from birth – 5 years and encouraging children towards achieving the following learning outcomes along with their school readiness.

  • Children have a strong sense of identity
  • Children are connected with, and contribute to their world
  • Children have a strong sense of wellbeing
  • Children are confident and involved learners
  • Children are effective communicators

  • Yoga

  • Fitness
  • Language
  • Cooking lessons

At Nook, we believe that promoting children’s health is an important aspect of providing care. We understand the important role we provide in meeting the nutritional needs of our children.  Our qualified chef prepares fresh meals daily ensuring our children are met with over half of their recommended daily dietary intake from our menus whilst in our care.  Our chef is mindful of the many diagnosed allergies and dietary requirements of our children and will cater appropriately and offer suitable substitutes in accordance with support and input from families and the Centre Manager.

It is important that children are offered a variety of nutritious meals and snacks and engage in positive, social and progressive mealtime experiences as part of their growth and development.  We are also committed in assisting families to develop healthy food attitudes and habits. Guidelines around healthy eating can be found in the foyer or by asking a friendly team member.
